Transcript – Set Your Own Standard
So, we just briefly covered what "health" versus "healthier" is.
And now, I want to assure you, that we are going to work this program based on your standard of "healthier."
Now I know we all have our doctors, we have our loved ones, that are telling us, nagging us, that we need to take certain actions. We need to exercise for 30 to 45 minutes every day. We need to do strength training. We need to do Zumba. We need to eat more kale. We need to stop eating HoHos and potato chips. We need to do this, and we need to do that.
They may be right.
But if we don't buy into it, if we don't believe and own that standard of living and behavior, we're not gonna do it.
Our current state indicates that we're not going to do it. They've been nagging us for years, or decades. And it hasn't made a difference.
So today, I want to assure you, your standard will serve you well. You decide how you want to make the changes. What changes you want to make.
And we're going to play. And we're going to experiment with different ideas.
And if something doesn't work for you, then we'll switch-- we'll find something else. Because there are times, when you may just have to suck it up and do something, because it's effective, and because it's maybe quick.
And I'm thinking of people who can physically run, but they hate running. But it is a very quick way to receive the cardio benefits, as well as the muscle benefits. And the lung capacity. There are a lot of benefits to running, as long as it doesn't cause you pain. And even if you don't enjoy running, you can find the time to listen to music and reflect, and so there are ways to kind of minimize the suck factor.
But hopefully, we are going to find activities and foods that you love to eat, so you won't feel like there's any hardship at all with this.
But it's just a change in your process, a change in your mindset.
So just remember, this is your standard. Live by your own rules. You can do this. And if you're doing it your way, you will be able to continue that progress, and that success.
And I think that's one of the greatest foundations upon which to build your new healthier habits. You set the standard and do it your way. Let the naysayers and the critics, and the people that love you so much, and they want you to be around for another 50 years.
As much as we love them, if we don't buy into what they're saying, it just makes us feel worse. Makes them feel worse.
So find your own program, in your own routine. Find your own program and routine, because that's the one that will pay off for you. Okay?
Next, we are going to talk about starting slow and the fact that you don't have to do everything all at once. Okay, I'll see you in the next video.
